A bunch of posts...

Finally, time to update! There are about 9 new posts below.... life keep us busy and we still have a busy rest of the month of May as well.

A Happy Mother's Day!

My little guy said the SWEETEST thing ever said to me to date: "Mommy, here is a princess!" (after seeing me "dressed up" for church this morning.. I guess he thought I looked like a princess since I had on a top with sparkles and a skirt.. the kid never sees me dressed up!!) My heart melts being his mom.. I'm so blessed!

And a Happy Mother's Day to my mom and MIL, as well as my sister in laws!! And of course, all my friends out there who are mommies. God has blessed us!!

Another Birthday!

Yet another birthday party! We have literally celebrated a different birthday every weekend of April (besides Easter) and now into May!! These are friends from school and this one, is a good friend of ours.. M. He's sitting right beside Stone in this picture. I met M's mom in the park not long after we moved here last July. We have been friends every since!! So, M turned 3 and had a great party yesterday (May 9) at this neat local park where you can ride a little train, ride a merry go round, play minature golf (which we didn't do) and play on the playground. There's also a huge swimming pool during the summer months and it backs up to a lake (you can see this in the picture below) where you can do fishing or ride boats. We had a fun time, although we were a tad on the hot and sweaty side!!!

Walk Like A Camel!

Stone rode a camel!!! 6 months ago, we couldn't have bribed him to do something like this, but he has found a new fearless side (as I mentioned below not being afraid of the firetrucks anymore). The church I work for in the afternoons brought a small traveling circus to town the weekend of May 1-2. We decided at the last minute to go and turns out, we had a lot of fun. I had forgotten that they were doing camel and pony rides, but really didn't think much of it cause normally, Stone wouldn't have wanted to do it. However, he saw the camels first and walked right up to the platform and wanted on! We had to hold him back so we could get tickets, (and I thought it was much over-priced for a short camel ride) but totally worth it!!!

Riding a pony... quite the natural!!

Inside the tent..

A "performing" buffalo... they claim it's the only performing buffalo in the US. I guess if you call standing up on a platform "performing" then here you go... :)

Yes, that's a big snake. I would have gotten my picture taken with it, but it cost money. Not worth the $5 that I didn't have in cash on me!

Birthday Cake #2

And then I got to do another birthday cake! K is one of my students in the morning and she had a H.S.M. themed party, so I found a similar cake on a website I go to and came up with this. I made it a cupcake-cake, which I love to do. Yum!!

Birthday Cake--Doll Cake

Somehow, I got myself back into making birthday cakes. Not that I'm complaining, but I did say to myself that I was going to take a little break. Which, I guess I did. Anyway, made this doll cake, my first doll cake, for my boss's little girl's 5th birthday party. Her daughter is adopted from Guatemala, so she wanted a Guatemalan type dress... this is what I came up with... it was fun, but took a lot longer than I expected!!

The birthday girl with her cake... she said she loved it and so did everyone! Made me happy!
Close-up of the back...

No longer afraid...

Yeah! Stone is back to not being afraid of things! He went through a phase where he wouldn't do anything, like get into a firetruck, like he did when he was little. Now, he's not afraid and loves it when we walk down the street to visit our local fire station. On this visit (4/21) we also took some home made rice-krispy treats to the firemen to thank them for all that they do.

In the driver's seat...

In the back seat....

Cha-Ching!

I cringed as I saw the price tag on the shoes below and all I heard was "cha-ching!!" A while back, I posted that I had been having extreme foot pain, especially in my left foot and that it turned out to be plantar f*aschitis. The doctor gave me a shot in my foot and recommended some home remedies and told me to invest in some good shoes. Well, I really didn't know what that meant as far as a price tag went. So, my MIL and I go shortly after my doctor's visit to a great shoe store and end up getting both these pairs of shoes. I won't quote an exact number on here, but the total was $$$ as in 3 digits! I've never paid that much for shoes in my life!! Thanks to my MIL who helped us with one pair until we could pay them back!!

I will say though, that after wearing both pairs, I can tell a HUGE difference and my feet don't hurt quite as much as they used to. I'm thankful, but oh my goodness... why do they have to be so expensive??!! If they were a lot cheaper, I could buy a lot more!! :)

Cousin Nate

We almost didn't get to see Cousin Nate during our Easter weekend visit, but we were fortunate to see him for a little while on Monday afternoon. Stone loves his cuz!

More Easter Day Pics

Finally, some time to post! Here are few more pics from Easter Sunday at my folk's house in WV. We had a great time visiting with my parents and siblings, as well as some cousins and friends. Below are pictures of Stone and my cousin's daughter H doing an Easter Egg Hunt. I have fun memories of almost every Easter Sunday doing an Easter Egg Hunt at my grandparent's house and I hope to continue that tradition with Stone whenever we can.
